Post by BookladyPost by Lucretia BorgiaPost by BookladyPost by GurpsterGod help you if you ever once in your life get in the NDP
database... every election I get calls and emails asking if I can
volunteer or take a sign. The text messages and phone calls come
pretty thick too. I haven't the heart to tell them to leave me alone
so I'm partially to blame. Call block works much of the time.

Many years ago, I worked as a canvasser on an election and haven't
since but the calls come fast and furious whenever there's an
election. However, they now text and call on my cell # and i NEVER
gave that to them so not sure where they're getting their info
A friend and I had decided we would go to Bayers Road this a.m. and do
an advance vote and have done with it. Never mind potential postal
strike messing them up, we couldn't vote as the computer had gone
belly up :)
Was thinking of going Monday or Tuesday. I thought the electronic voting
was an option and they were supposed to have paper ballots as well?
No, I guess if the computer goes down, everything is off! However we
went down about 3:30 and all was well. In fact, we were the only two
there at that point and we had a lot of fun laughing about computers
etc. I did remark to the guy doing my vote that they may have saved
postage but this method was deadly for trees, masses of paperwork. Gave
him my licence (had to have some visual identity that showed address as
well as they are taking votes for all areas) Then you fill in a sheet
verifying the details are true etc. Then they give you the ballot, not
seen one like that before where you actually fill in the candidates name
and party, then you return to your instructor and he puts it in a
special envelope with a special sticky seal and then you actually put it
in the ballot box!!
All in all, we found it a good way to get the job done.
