Building a garage, and wondering about the quality of framing nailers...

I see Princess Auto has their powerfist brand nailer on sale, for 89.99,
reg $179.99
http://www.princessauto.com/air/compressor-accessories/air-tools/8134926-28-single-bump-fire-framing-nailer

Are these princess auto deals any good or what is the scoop?

I see quite a few units that say they use clipped head nails -- whats
this all about?

I was looking too at the Mastercraft unit, but its reg price is $250...
reviews say it can be had on sale for $99, but likely not before i'll
need to buy one.
http://reviews.canadiantire.ca/9045/0588434P/reviews.htm

I'm also wondering how big of a compressor I will need to run this
thing. I don't want it too underpowered so that it runs steady and
don't want to go too big, as i plan to buy a 240 60gal sometime down the
road. If i could get a pancake or dual tank unit that will adequately
run the framing nailer, that would be great, as i would have a nice
portable unit and the big compressor back at the shop.

Thanks for your help

This is a couple of the compressors i was thinking about:
http://www.kingcanada.com/Products.htm?CD=195&ID=12058
only thing with that one is the air delivery isn't a great deal more
than some smaller units, and isn't quite big enough to run air
ratchets/impacts or die grinders unless someone else can tell me
different, maybe its better than i think it is.

Air Delivery @ 40 PSI 7.4 SCFM
Air Delivery @ 90 PSI 5.7 SCFM
Tank Size 20 Gal. $299

http://www.thetoolstore.ca/viewItem1.asp?idProduct=4045&idCategory=468
Air Delivery @ 40 PSI 5.1 SCFM
Air Delivery @ 90 PSI 4.1 SCFM
Tank Size 2 x 2 Gal. $229 @ kents with a king brad nailer (and host i
think)

A framing nailer doesn't use a huge volume of air. It only uses air when you
fire it so, unless you nail a bunch of shots really fast, pressure is the
question. I think 90 PSI would be fine.

I bought a Campbell Hausfeld kit on sale at Canadian Tyre for $299 a
couple of years ago. It came with a framing nailer and a brad nailer/
stapler - twin tank. I forget how many gallons etc (and it's not here
for me to check). It's completely adequate for any job I've needed it
for - sheds, decks, carpeting, trim work, etc.
