We got a new mayor and a lot of new councillors. Betcha
it’ll make no difference in the homeless situation or the
mess with housing/jammed up infrastructure.

You are probably right. They all claimed that homelessness was their top
priority but will they, and can they, follow through?

My guess is they will blame the provincial and federal
government, claiming it’s their fault. A tried and true way of
shifting blame and reneging on promises.

Perhaps they will be right to blame the province and feds.

That's what all you PeePee and T.Rump lovers say. Seriously,
look at history and see what happens when Fascists and RWAs take
control. You know better than that. Are you OK? :-)

Nevertheless, municipalities may have enough limitations on what they
can effectively do. They can eliminate some red tape and fees. That will
help a little. But how much can they actually build? I dunno.

Yeah, the federal government brought in too many
immigrants and the provincial government got them to
all move to Nova Scotia, so HRM is blameless. Maybe
they can tax rich CFAs, but not much else.

Considering Fillmore's tactless comments about encampments, I predict an
attempt at swift removal of all of them as soon as he's sworn in.
